The architecture of historic houses, as the most valuable symbols of cultural and architectural identity, is exposed to threats from modern changes and a lack of attention to the fundamental principles of traditional design. Identifying and analyzing the factors affecting the continuity of the values of these buildings seems essential to preserve and revitalize them. Therefore, the present study aims to identify the factors that influence the continuity of architectural values of historical houses of the Qajar period. This study is a developmental research in terms of its purpose and a combination of qualitative and documentary methods in terms of methodology. Sandelowski and Barroso's (2007) meta-synthesis model, which includes seven specific stages, was used. Initially, the research questions were determined, and its objectives were formulated. Then, the relevant texts were systematically reviewed, and reputable scientific databases such as SID, Magiran, and Normax were used to collect sources. In total, 647 sources were reviewed, and after careful screening, 61 sources were selected for the final analysis. The methodological quality of the sources was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program, and the Kappa index value was calculated to be 0.81, indicating reliable agreement between the raters. The findings showed that the design of Qajar houses was formed based on the integration of cultural, climatic, spatial, and semantic factors. These factors not only helped to preserve architectural values but also created a unique identity for these buildings. The results of this research can help develop new strategies in preserving and revitalizing traditional.
