What is seen in our cities today is not the urban space, but the empty spaces that are the result of the juxtaposition of buildings and the remaining pieces of the masses that bring less meaning and concept to mind. Maybe first, buildings are built in our city and then, what remains is the urban space. Therefore, this article has chosen Isfahan school as a bridge to communicate with the past and create historical continuity in urban spaces. The purpose of this research is to modernize the principles of the Isfahan school of urban planning with a modernizing approach based on the current needs of Isfahan City. Contemporization in this research does not mean returning to the past, but rather the optimal use of past principles and updating them with current conditions. In this research, the urban planning principles of the Isfahan school were collected based on interviews with experts and library studies. In the first step, the corresponding parameters of the research were obtained based on quantitative content analysis of expert interviews and library studies. In the following, the indicators are prioritized based on the Friedman test, and the 17 primary indicators enter the factor analysis cycle. The results indicate that 6 economic, social, level and per capita factors, access, physical, and historical monuments support 17 research criteria up to 86%.<br />
